IOS Developer: Android Applications That Pirates Paradise
Matt Gemmell, a developer of Mac OSX and IOS from Scotland, said that the openness of Android as the operating system has made it a pirate haven. This was conveyed through writing in a personal blog.
Gemmell opinion is based on the fact that the developer is more difficult to get money from creating applications for Android, rather than other platforms such as IOS.
Last week, developers eliminate Madfinger Games gaming applications on the Android Trigger Dead because of being pressured by the high rate of piracy in the application platform. Rather than let his game was hijacked, Madfinger choose to not charge.
By Gemmell, called Android users often hijack software because it can do so easily. "It's easy, because the system is built with an open mentality," he wrote.
To install pirated software on Android, users only need to find a file (. Apk) on the internet and copying to the Android device without the need to add any modifications like a jailbreak on the iPhone. "Since the beginning of the system is designed for the hijackers. Thus, the existence of piracy is something that can not be avoided."
Gemmell blamed what he called the openness of Android developers make it difficult to make money on that platform. "A closed system is better for business," he said. He also added that piracy is a symptom of the failure to make effective business model.
The only solution to piracy, according to Gemmell, is to make Android as a closed system
